The decision to cancel games typically falls to the head coaches of each team.
The league may decide to close one or more fields for a day based on conditions
and weather events, but this is the exception rather than the rule.
If your league has umpires (Double A and above) and you decide to cancel a game,
you must call the Director of Umpires, Preston Lucas, at 781-439-1855 to alert
him to the change so he can contact the umpires. Consider adding his contact to
your phone.
When canceling a game, head coaches should notify their league director and
their team via email and GameChanger. The league director will mark the game as
postponned which will send out an email and update GameChanger, but this may not
happen in a timely manner.
